The earliest mold surfacing repair used in aviation, aerospace and military fields, after widely used in industrial fields, is a relatively mature technology. Mold surfacing repair is widely used in EU countries and has been introduced to China for about 10 years. Because it can greatly reduce production costs, domestic die forging enterprises are scrambling to adopt it.
At present, the process flow of domestic die forging surfacing repair is generally as follows: cavity cleaning before welding, mold cleaning, 450 ℃, preheating, welding, 450 ℃, normalized air cooling, 530-570 ℃, tempering (1-2 times), air cooling to room temperature for machining. The updated mold surfacing technology omits the tempering process, and the advantages are obvious: 1. Save time and omit the tempering process, which omits the subsequent heating, heat preservation and slow cooling process, which can save 2-5 days of processing time. 2. To improve the utilization rate of the electric furnace, the tempering process is omitted, and only 450 ℃ is normalized. The normalized temperature and the preheating temperature of the mold are the same as 450 ℃, so that the preheating and normalizing can be carried out in the same electric furnace, and the mold can be continuously put into the electric furnace regardless of batches, thus improving the mold repair speed and the utilization rate of the electric furnace. 3. Cost Reduction of Die Base Material The general material of domestic large and medium-sized dies is 5CrNiMo. The red hardness of this material is average, and the hardness will be greatly reduced with welding repair, thus the life of the die will be reduced. The new die can only be regularized at 450 ℃, which can fundamentally solve the problem, greatly reduce the cost of the base material, increase the life by 30-50.4, and reduce the hardness of the die base material, generally, only 12mm thick welding material needs to be welded, which reduces the amount of welding material for mold repair. 5, reduce machining costs The hardness of the welding material used in the new mold surfacing technology is lower than that of the original welding material. After welding, the hardness of large and medium-sized molds is 45HRC, and the hardness of small molds is about 52HRC, which is very beneficial to machining and accepts the cost of working hours and tools.
